Dealer touts boats’ versatility

Tar River Paddle Sports is a NuCanoe dealer, carrying an assortment of kayaks and kayak fishing supplies. The company also offers kayak and canoe rental and accessories such as fishing rod holders, riggings and paddle and hunting accessories.

The company’s website touts NuCanoe as “versatile, stable and easy-to-use watercraft that will enhance a person’s ability to fish, paddle, row and hunt.”

Owner Frank Bandy said he is the exclusive dealer in this area for NuCanoe. Most of his business is done on the Internet.

The NuCanoe is considered a hybrid between a canoe and kayak. Its versatility and stability makes it stand out, he said.

“You can make it a one- two- or three-seater,” Bandy said. “You can stand and fish in it. You can stand to paddle. It is very stable.”
